Dear AP Psych Student

Hi guys! I hope you're doing well from your previous school year. I just wanted to let you know that this class could either make or break it for you. Halfen admits it's a lot of work so I advise you to stay on top of all the assignments. The vocab is pretty long, and you have to type out a good thoughtful FRQ, do 10-second progress check, and do a mastery task all for one week. That sounds a lot right but Halfen can be very understanding and she sets HARD deadlines where you CANNOT miss those dates unless you want a 0. Try to use those to your advantage.  The best activity in the class was the time you got to handle food. Make sure you have some friends or good classmates in this class. It's extremely fun when you get to play around with your food with your friends. Sculpting a brain out of an orange is more fun than you think.  You're gonna need a notebook to do the vocab, but I literally just used a fourth of my composition notebook so I suggest you to but your note...

How Good is My Memory?

Image
Short-Term Memory Test: I got remembered and spelled correctly 7 out of 12 words. I learned that my memory could be influenced by my diet and stress most of the time.  Stroop Effect Test: I had to say the color of the words even though the word itself was written as a different color. If the word was "red" but the color of the work was green, I would have to say "green" out loud. I took 16.683 seconds in the first round and then 24.099 in the second round.  Face Memory Game: I had to pick a random face and then try to replicate it again. I only got the eyes mixed up but got everything else correct! article:  https://med.uth.edu/neurosciences/conditions-and-treatments/brain-tumor/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItffI49T2_gIVwcQYAh2EgQBJEAEYASAAEgIG4_D_BwE

Social Life - It's Real Life!

Image
Compliance: Compliance is the social influence that can influence individuals to adopt the behavior and make it a norm in the community. A group of dancers all work together to execute a group dance in order for it to look amazing. When one dancer is feeling unmotivated because of various reasons they usually observe other committed dancers and how they take dancing seriously. That usually motivates them to be like that person.   Obedience: Obedience is the social influence to listen to others. Dancing is just like any other sport that requires many mental skills and obedience is one of the most important ones. Dancing can not just be picked up overnight. It takes time and constant obedience to be able to master a skill. When listening to instructions carefully, will help in the long run to re-evaluate what needs to be fixed or not.  Social Facilitation: When I'm around other people in the dance world, I soon eventually adapt to their behaviors. The endurance that e...

I believe there is a common seasonal depression for most people during the cold winter. The days are shorter while the night is longer. The longer the night, the longer everyone is cooped up in their homes. Having everyone cooped up make them bored and do their own hobbies. Usually, those hobbies make us think a lot in our heads sometimes. We start having seasonal depression because we could be out of the house spending time having fun or doing something more productive with friends. I've been feeling the slow vibes and seasonal depression ever since winter started.  I've been wanting to do more but have been restricted. Obviously, there are still activities that I can make myself busy with like cooking, crocheting, painting, reading, or gaming. These are just mindless activities where my body may be occupied but my brain is always thinking and wandering into other things to think about. I can be easily distracted when I already try to make a goal in myself to at least finish...

Senses and Stuff

https://www.healthline.com/health/taste-impaired#infections Our own taste buds can be infected and be impaired to function properly due to the common flu, sinus infections, salivary gland infections or infection with Covid-19. Our taste buds could also be impaired and infected if we neglect to meet our nutritional goals like Zinc and Vitamin B12. There's also many types of way to alter our taste buds like the miracle berry that would let sour foods taste sweet. After eating artichokes, our taste buds would be given an bitter after taste. When we eat anything after eating artichokes, it won't taste the same as usual. I think it's pretty cool to see how there's so many ways to change our taste when we can even see our taste buds.

QueenAnaheim grew up with minor health problems when she was a baby, She slept more than normal compare to other babies and got addicted with a variety of foods, The more variety helped her digest and have a very fast metabolism, She grew up with many boys and soon adapted their behavior and was often called a tom-boy. She started to find more interest in girls than guys. In her early childhood, QueenAnaheim slowly developed a strong Cerebellum in which she paid more attention with language and emotional control. She was quite more emotionally stable and mature than the rest of the kids at a very young age. She's often the local hero to be able to comfort anyone that was in distress since she could easily sense fear and anxiety, She also suggested activities that could help people feel pleasure and feel like themselves again. Throughout her adulthood she had a strong base of having a set of skills that were helpful to others, When she first debuted as a superheroine her beginn...

My Life Story

Image
I was born very late in the year, on December 28th, 2005. My mom named me Ann since it sounded like end because I was the last child in the family. I grew up needing to catch up a lot. I was always behind on the public norms and I would always get in trouble for saying or doing things I'm not supposed to do in public. English wasn't my first language so I had to take an English summer course in 1st grade. My family members switched to talking from Vietnamese to English. I kept talking in my native language until I sat down to get the talk that I live in America and need to speak its language. I was the last one to switch over to English and I would usually be a slow thinker. Growing up my mom signed me up for dances. In some way, it was a good way of conditioning me to improve my memory and to be more aware of everything surrounding me. Eventually, it made a spark in me to have a deep passion for dancing. I grew up doing a lot of cultural dances that my mom made me do.   Alth...
